When entitled customers get angry.

W

Customer:

Can I ask you a question? It will only take 10 seconds.

ME:

Sir, if you could please sign your name on the list, either myself or one of my fellow co-workers will be able to assist you as soon as possible. As of right now, you can clearly see that I am currently engaged in a consultation with these customers.

CUSTOMER:

It’s a 10 second question I promise you. What is the name of this color and what is this piece called…?

ME:

Sir, I have already explained to you that I am literally assisting another customer with an in-depth consultation. Nonetheless, to answer your question, that is a walnut laminate, not real wood, and the piece you are referring to, is a cover panel. If you would like further assistance, I urge you to please sign your name on the waiting list, and please wait your turn.

The customer proceeded to repeat this, with me and my other co-workers  -_-

Eventually no one could continue to entertain his “10-second” questions especially since he never signed his name on the list, and my other co-worker had to take lunch by store policy and state law reasons, or else there would be a violation and a reprimand.

LEAVE! You are causing a scene.
The foreign gentleman, proceeded to then harass another co-worker from another dept., and demanded he have my fellow co-workers name so he could report her to my superior. Without leaving my customers side, and my station, I felt prompted to correct the gentleman, and address how he was being rude, and did not wish to follow our advice, nor take heed of our policy. He went on to cause a scene, and in a stern but articulate and polite way, I told him that he needed to leave because he was causing a scene and his type of attitude was uncalled for and not necessary.

The foreign man with the chip on his shoulder went on to report the situation to a manager, and went as far as to say that he felt “THREATENED” that he felt his life was threatened, hahahaha!!! None of my managers believed the man, because his claims were out of my character, and I had plenty of co-workers and customers who corroborated my account of the entire ordeal.

In the end, this is a case of a man, who was rude, did not want to abide by RULES, and felt he had an air of superiority and entitlement. I hate to break it to you, but life has rules, and we are not living in YOUR WORLD. Sheesh……

... DAMN MONDAYS!
